Big dreams will remain, just dreams if no initial steps are taken to start something concrete in pursuit of that dream.
It is of course foolhardy if you jump into any venture, commit your life savings and other resources to it, without some reflections and thoughtful planning, just because you have an idea. It is necessary to carefully think through your idea thoroughly, think of what you want to do and how – your Mission, your expected outcome – your Vision; and why you want to do this – your Objectives.
However, one needs to guard against too much thinking and planning and NOT starting; a phenomenon, which will lead to planning atrophy. Fears and doubts will soon take over as you linger around trying to dot every “i” and cross every “t” causing you to eventually abandon the project, robbing the world of a great invention, or innovation, and a great business of our generation. What a pity!
Many great ideas may have suffered this fate, and many great would have been innovators, inventors, industrialist, and business men and women may have died with their dreams.
You may never have a perfect start, but start small, invest your time and passion in it. Give time to learning and correction. Don’t disregard small beginnings and its obvious struggles. Do away with egos and appreciate micro beginnings. When you start, know that you have not arrived, but you have merely started learning and allow yourself to learn every day, every minute and everywhere.
Your focus this time SHOULD NEVER BE ON MONEY, it will derail your drive to innovate, rather it should be on creating something that will make life better for someone, and make the world a better place.
So armed with all these good ideas, with some planning, and with a good prayer, JUST START!
